fresnelIntegralS

Evaluates the sine Fresnel integral.

Synopsis

fresnelIntegralS (x)

Required Arguments

float x (Input)
Argument for which the function value is desired.

Return Value

The sine Fresnel integral.

Description

The sine Fresnel integral is defined to be

\[S(x) = \int_0^x \sin \left(\tfrac{\pi}{2} t^2\right) dt\]

Example

The Fresnel integral S(1.75) is evaluated.

from __future__ import print_function
from numpy import *
from pyimsl.math.fresnelIntegralS import fresnelIntegralS

x = 1.75
ans = fresnelIntegralS(x)
print("S(1.75) = %f" % (ans))

Output

S(1.75) = 0.499385
